Telegram将利用融资打造名为Telegram Open Network (TON)的区块链网络，Telegram的2亿用户将可以在该网络用其发行的数字货币Gram购买服务。Telegram称，目标是让TON的交易速度超过比特币和以太坊区块链，可能与VISA和万事达卡竞争。

Telegram客户端开源，服务端闭源。
